NATIONAL MEN’S SPECIAL PROJECT SQUAD IS SET TO LEAVE TO THE UK

The National Men’s Special Project Squad, which is currently in the preparation phase for the 2021 Youth Hockey World Cup scheduled to take place on November 24 to December 5 in India, will travel to the United Kingdom on September 26 to October 16, 2021 for the 2021 United Kingdom Tour Series.

The National Team Management Committee, Malaysian Hockey Confederation (KHM) through its Committee Chairman, Dato ‘Ahmad Najmi Abdul Razak has confirmed the matter and once again it is the result of good cooperation between KHM and Great Britain Hockey.

Dato ‘Ahmad Najmi explained that the National Men’s Special Project Squad will leave for the United Kingdom in the early morning of September 26 with 21 players brought to follow this tour series.

“Wallace Tan’s coaching squad has a mission to prepare for the 2021 Youth World Cup Hockey Championship which is scheduled to take place at the end of this year in India and this tour series is very important for them to make the best use of.

“After a long time there are no competitive matches for them, so the 21 players who participated in this tour series including two goalkeepers, seven defenders, six players in the middle position and six players in the attack will have to take advantage of all the friendly matches that have been arranged for them.

“A total of eight matches have been arranged for the national youth squad during their stay there. This includes two matches against the club team and six more matches against the B-21 England Squad, B-23 Wales and B-23 Scotland, “explained Dato ‘Ahmad Najmi.

If there is any further information required please contact Dato ‘Ahmad Najmi as Committee Chairman, Team Manager, I. Vikneswaran or Head Coach, Wallace Tan.
