Kuala Lumpur grasped an ultimate victory, Pahang tied

KUALA LUMPUR (21 SEPTEMBER 2019) : Kuala Lumpur and Pahang  kickstarted their TNB Tun Abdul Razak Cup 2019 campaign with a win against their opponents.

However, Kuala Lumpur were forced to accept a fierce challenge from last year’s finalist Terengganu as they trailed for a brief moment before Mohamad Syamin Mohd Yusof scored twice to secure a victory for I. Vickneswaran’s side.

Meanwhile, another Group B match witnessed Pahang forcing to share their points in a 3-3 draw against Penang.Penang took the lead in the 5th minute through a field goal by Izzuan Ismail before Pahang responded through Muhammad Arif Syafie Ishak and Muhamad Izham Azhar.

The match was in favour for Penang for a brief moment until Izham emerged as a saviour for Pahang with an equalizer in the 58th minute.

In the women’s category, defending champions Kuala Lumpur were held off by a 1-1 draw against PDRM in their Group A encounter.

Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur took the lead through a fine finish by Norazlin Sumantri in the 6th minute. The fierce Kuala Lumpur side was unable to sustain their lead as PDRM responded with a lethal goal through Noor Hasliza Mohd Ali.   

Another Group A match witnessed Johor recording a 4-0 win against Penang with Nuraini Abdul Rashid scoring two goals through the penalty shootout.
