KUALA LUMPUR (23 SEPTEMBER 2019): Kuala Lumpur guaranteed their slot to the TNB Tun Abdul Razak 2019 Cup semifinals after securing their second victory over Pahang in their Group B match on Monday.
Despite trailing twice in the match , it did not dampen the spirit of the Kuala Lumpur players when the likes of Mohamad Amirol Aideed Mohd, Mohamad Syamin Mohd Yusof and Harvinder Singh Makbul Singh stepped up to secure a 3-2 win. I. Vickneswaran’s Kuala Lumpur squad has now gained six points from two matches through this victory.
Meanwhile, Terengganu established their first win in another Group B match after securing an emphatic 5-1 win against Penang with Mohamad Akhimullah Anuar Esook scoring 4 goals out of the 5 scored.
Perak finally won the much-awaited match of this campaign by defeating PDRM 5-2 to give them a slim chance of qualifying into the semi-finals.
Moving on to Division 2, Selangor went on to claim their third consecutive victory, this time by defeating Kedah 3-2.
Amir Zulkarnain Ahmad Robangi, Muhammad Zulfitri Md Zin and Abdul Rauf Mohd Nazri each scored a goal for Selangor.
Division 2 also witnessed Perlis claimed their second win over Negeri Sembilan with a 6-1 scoreline. Najmi Farizal Jazlan scored two goals to secure a win for Negeri Sembilan while ATM recorded a 4-1 victory over Kelantan.
In the women’s category, Selangor claimed their semi-finals spot by defeating Terengganu 2-1 in their Group B encounter.
Nurul Natasha Fairuz combined with Nur Atira Mohamad Ismail and caused severe damage to their opponents through their lethal finishes. As a result of their partnership, victory was secured in favor of Selangor.
Another Group B encounter witnessed ATM beat Melaka 2-1 thanks to the contributions of Siti Noor Amarina Ruhani and Surizan Awang Noh through their penalty shots.
