KUALA LUMPUR (9 AUGUST 2019): Indonesian junior soccer teams, RK Football Academy and Bandung Pro United dominated the recently concluded RSC-Milo International Under-12 Soccer 7s tournament that was held at the Royal Selangor Club Sports Annexe at Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

This is the 17th consecutive addition of the tournament which over the years drew many foreign participation from countries like Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Korea, Australia, India, Sri Lanka and many more.

For this addition of the tournament, 16 Teams participated and they were separated into four groups of 4 teams each.  This was followed with second round matches for the Winners Pool (Cup competition) and Losers Pool (Plate competition).  The top two teams qualify for the semi-final and winners advance to the final.

Special awards were given out to outstanding players during this tournament and this too was dominated by the Indonesian teams.

Best player of the tournament, Seva Ditya Rangga was humble in receiving his award as the best overall player of the tournament and said, “There were many good players here.  I am very happy to receive this award and I just played hard in all the matches. Off course I have to thank my coach for inspiring and motivating me to give my best! I also made new friends here.”

“We take junior soccer development very seriously in Indonesia.  The players are chosen by our talent scouts who attend most of the junior soccer matches/activities in Indonesia.  Talented players are then invited to our academy and given the right kind of training and exposure to explore their potential.” said RK Football Academy coach, Ronny Remon.

“We will surely come again next year, this time to take the champion trophy,” said Bandung Pro United head coach, Elda Harjoansyah.  He added that the tournament was organised with much professionalism and the level of competition was very high.

“Next year, we will be introducing something new.  After 17 years, surely, we have to scale higher goals, in line with our theme this year – Life With Goals,” said Sylvester Devaraj Anthony, President of Royal Selangor Club.
