RBC successfully conducts grassroot coaching course

RAWANG Badminton Club successfully conducted their two-day badminton coaching course which ended yesterday.

The course was launched by the Gombak District Education Office in conjunction with the Asia Badminton Academy on the 5th August 2019

The aim of the course is to train school coaches and keep them abreast with developing techniques and latest badminton skills. It is also designed to train the coaches to organise, direct and conduct coaching courses which targets future badminton talents.

Rawang Badminton Club manager Jayaseelan Anthony said: “This course is important for the coaches to complete their qualification and at the conclusion of the course all of them expressed their satisfaction.

“During the course, coaches had to do assessments. We were also very concerned about sport psychology, lifestyle and competitions, and also how to design practice, group observation and analysis, how to plan the coaching, practical and theory tactics. We then did review and evaluate all areas,” he said. 

Zurina, a teacher with SMK Rawang, was pleased with her coaching course and had no qualms about sharing her experiences.”I enjoyed every moment of this course and I would like to congratulate RBC for doing an excellent job in facilitating this coaching course. I learned alot of new techniques and I’m eager to share this knowledge with my students at school,” she said.

Present at the opening ceremony was Shekhinah PR chief executive officer Christopher Raj. “To produce a champion, like Dato’ Lee Chong Wei we must pool our resources. We must also support and harness our student athletes until they make it on the international stage with the Jalur Gemilang flying proudly and the strains of Negaraku fill the stadium,” said Christopher.

“We at Shekhinah PR chose to be affiliated with Rawang BC because the club has so much potential. I feel that this is their time to shine and contribute to the future of Malaysia badminton. “On this precious occasion, I would also like to congratulate all the teachers involved in this course for playing a pivotal role in moulding the characters of the students as this is imperative for the future of our nation,” Christopher added.

RBC will open their PLJ2019 campaign in September and will be battle for the crown with eight other teams in Division 1.
