BIZ LINK PROPERTIES PURPLE LEAGUE CORPORATE 2021/2022 STARTS OFF WITH A BANG

Competing for the first time in the Corporate League, Dato Jack Koh was honoured to be a part of a prestigious tournament like the BLPLC.

KUALA LUMPUR (6 AUGUST 2022): Oriental Real Estate got off to an explosive start in the Biz Link Properties Purple League Corporate 2021/2022 (BLPLC) after making short work of AIG 15-0 in their opening game at the Setapak Badminton Centre in Kuala Lumpur today.

The men’s doubles pair of Kum Yi Fan – Tan Kian An made a stellar start for Oriental Real Estate when they overcame their opponent’s Chiew Chin Ming – Muhammad Hafiz Mohd 11-5, 11-2, 11-5 in the opening game.

Oriental Real Estate continued with their smashing form as Ter Chun Long – See Su Yin put aside Tan Jun Yi – Hang Siu Kan 11-4, 11-3, 11-3 in 13 minutes in the mixed doubles category while Azizan Mohd Ariffin – Tan Fu Tzen handed AIG their third straight defeat when their second men’s doubles players defeated Joachim Tayok – Raja Kamaruzaman 11-5, 11-6, 11-4.

Err Ganjing – Kho Mai Lai ended AIG’s hopes of a comeback when the women’s doubles pair defeated Aimi Liyana – Wong Kha Yan 11-7,11-3,11-3.

Oriental Real Estate sealed their win when Ng Eng Cheong – Ter Chun Wei defeated Suffian Zakaria and Tan Jia Wei in straight sets 11-2, 11-2 and 11-1 in the men’s doubles.

Oriental Real Estate team manager, Nur Farah Iliyana was present at the hall today and was delighted with her team’s performance. She said “It was a great win for us, and we believe we can achieve our target of reaching the grand-finals. It is an honour for us to be part of this competition as we can battle against the top corporates in the country.”

Also present at Setapak Badminton Centre was Malaysia Purple League’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ho Khek Mong who was delighted with the support shown today by the teams. He said, “The first day has proven to be a success and I hope that the teams will continue to play better as the tournament progresses.”

Meanwhile, heavyweights Top Glove Badminton Club edged Perbadanan Putrajaya in a mouth-watering fixture, which saw them winning the match 13-8 in style. The limelight was stolen by Top Glove’s Dato Jack Koh and Leong Wei Boon as they trashed Razali Ngatiman – Zairul Hafiz 11-7,11-7,11-3 to secure their team’s victory in the men’s doubles category.

“I’m grateful to Top Glove Badminton Club for trusting and including me in this wonderful team. I’m happy to witness that my fitness level is on par with the rest, I can’t wait to play better than this in my upcoming match,” said Dato Jack.

The first day of the competition will conclude with Red Phoenix facing Aeon Credit Service and Genting Malaysia battling Senheng respectively at 8:00 pm. The top 3 teams from each group will then proceed to play in the grand finale.

The second edition of this competition is scheduled to be held for two consecutive weekends in a round robin format from the 6th – 14th August while the final round will take place on the 20th and 21st August at Setapak Badminton Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
