PETALING JAYA: The Public Services Commission (PSC) has warned government job seekers not to be fooled by a scam in which PSC officers are reportedly offering placements in the civil service in exchange for money.
PSC said it had identified a syndicate that was using the names of the commissioners and top officials to create fake social media accounts offering this service.
“This syndicate is active in the Telegram platform and uses the names and pictures of these officials to hoodwink the victims,” it said in a recent posting on its website.
“We view this matter seriously and advise candidates not to be fooled by this syndicate as there is no such thing as payments for obtaining government jobs,” it said in the warning notice sighted by FMT.
PSC has also posted several screenshots of the syndicate’s exchanges with potential candidates asking for payments from RM500 to RM3,000 for job placements.
It said anyone being approached by the syndicate should notify the commission via email at Unit.integriti@spa.gov.my.
