PUCHONG, 21 APRIL – A total of 59 Johor state athletes were presented with incentives worth RM1000.00 per person to participate in the upcoming Hanoi SEA Games.
Organized by the Johor State Sports Council (MSNJ), the incentives were presented by the Chairman of Johor Youth, Sports, Entrepreneur Development, Cooperatives and Human Resources Committee, YB Mohd Hairi bin Mad Shah during MSNJ’s Iftar ceremony, which was held at Espira Kinrara, Puchong.
According to YB Mohd Hairi, “The number of Johor state athletes participating in this year’s edition has increased by 51.28%, which is 20 (59 athletes) compared to 39 athletes at the 2019 Philippines SEA Games.
“Constituting to the number of athletes, a total of 32 athletes under the age of 23 are still eligible to represent Johor at the SUKMA XX MSN 2022 (Malaysia Games) which is scheduled to take place on September 29 – October 8, 2022,” he said.
YB Mohd Hairi also added that the Johor athletes’ will be involved in 22 competitive sports throughout the 31st SEA Games namely in sports such as, swimming, weightlifting, badminton, cycling, basketball, volleyball, football, dance sports, Esports, Judo, Karate, kurash, kickboxing, shooting, sports, petanque, ping pong, fencing, archery, sepak takraw, wushu and Xiang Qi.
Also present at the ceremony were the Johor Deputy State Secretary (Sports, Youth and Volunteers), YB Dato’ Hj On bin Jabbar @Jaafar and the Director of Johor State Sports Council (MSNJ), Nor Syazlan Abd. Razak.
