BIZ LINK PROPERTIES PURPLE LEAGUE CORPORATE 2021/2022: AN AVENUE FOR PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE SHUTTLERS TO LET OFF STEAM

The second edition of the Biz link Properties Purple League Corporate 2021/2022 (BLPLC) saw the giants of “skin healthcare industry”, Dr.KO emerging victorious against rivals Senheng 11-3.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. A company that has fun together, works hard together always stays together.

Nowhere was this more evident than during the second edition of Biz Link Properties Purple Corporate 2021/2022 where the fans were treated to a wonderful display of ‘badmintainment’ by none other than corporate bigwigs alongside social players who were mixing it up with former national, state and district players.

Where else can you find a group Chief Executive Officers or Chairmen, putting rank and status aside and battling side by side with their junior subordinates in search of glory for their respective organisations.

Commenting on the scale of the BLPLC event, Ong Ewe Hock, the former world number two men’s singles player stated that the BLPLC is an important platform for corporate employees and ex-professional players to continue their careers.

“If you look at the level of preparation and the players’ performance, we can experience the high-level intensity that is being showcased by all the participating teams. This is indeed a good moment for the Malaysian badminton fraternity.

“I hope this tournament will expand bigger with more corporates participating in the future,” said the 1996 and 2001 Malaysian Open champion, who is now the team manager for RedOne Phoenix.

On the other hand, RedOne’s Chief Operating Officer Teh Beng Hock also considers BLPLC to be significant to his organization and its employees.

“This tournament is crucial for all the 350 RedOne employees across Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. At RedOne, we’re passionate about badminton and our team is built upon former national players and our employees. If there’s a given opportunity, we always encourage our players to compete in badminton tournaments.

“For me it is important for Malaysian corporates to hire former national sportsmen as a gratitude for their service to the nation,” said Teh Beng Hock, who also participated in the BLPLC.

Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, executive chairman and founder of leading gloves manufacturer Top Glove, iterated that the BLPC emphasizes on the importance of teamwork.

“For a corporate to be successful, you not only have to work hard but plan wisely to get results. All this is still not enough for you to succeed if there is no team spirit as shown through our participation in this tournament.

“With the solid combination of professional & amateur players, we were happy with our accomplishment in the Biz Link Properties Corporate Purple League, and we look forward to do better in next year’s edition,” said Tan Sri Dr Lim, who was the oldest player (65 years old) in the tournament.

The second edition of the Biz link Properties Purple League Corporate 2021/2022 (BLPLC) saw the giants of “skin healthcare industry”, Dr.KO emerging victorious against rivals Senheng 11-3.

“Winning was not our main goal prior to this tournament. We just wanted to encourage our staffs to be healthy and fit.
“I humbly encourage all the other corporate companies to follow our course and participate in this reputable tournament in the future,” said Dr. Ko Chung Beng who happens to be the founder of Dr.KO.

Dr. KO claimed bragging rights in the exhilarating final as they walked away with a cool RM 50,000 cash prize while Senheng took home a purse of RM 25,000 for their efforts.

AEON Credit Services, Genting Malaysia, Oriental Real Estate, Putrajaya Corporation, China Press Sports Club and AIG were among the notable teams that participated in this edition’s Biz Link Properties Purple League Corporate.
