AMPANG JAYA BC IS READY TO UNLEASH THEIR BEST FRONT FOUR

Elite shuttler Goh Soon Huat is expected to take the centre stage in this year's SRPLP along with Shevon Lai in the mixed doubles category.

Top ranked Chou Tien Chen are among the players to beef up the team in SRPLP

KUALA LUMPUR (29 SEPTEMBER): Top seeded Ampang Jaya BC are ready to prove their worth as they prepare to leave nothing in the tank at the SENHENG RedOne Purple League Professional (SRPLP) which kicks off in less than three days at Malawati Stadium, Shah Alam. Being one of the main tournament contenders, Ampang Jaya will be vying for top honours through the powerpack inclusion of Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen who’s currently ranked 4th in the world.

Apart from Tien Chen, Ampang Jaya BC’s team will also be strengthened with elite shuttlers such as Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai in the mixed doubles category, Malaysia’s women singles stalwart, Goh Jin Wei and the men’s doubles pair from Indonesia, Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Muhammad Reza Pahlevi who are ranked 53rd in the world.

Ampang Jaya BC’s upbeat team manager, Voon Siaw Yee aspires her team to go far in this tournament in spite Ampang Jaya BC not being lined up with superstar players such as Kento Momota and Lee Zii Jia in the 2019th edition. The enthusiastic manager further expressed that her charges are not here to make up the numbers. “We are capable of pulling a surprise in this tournament. I believe with the strength of our talents; we can progress to the greater heights.”

Succeeding in five successive seasons, the flagship event of Malaysia Purple League (MPL) is on a level way above the rest with the continuous support of the local and international fans, the vital sponsorship of various companies and participation of world-class players.

The SENHENG redONE Purple League (SRPLP) will kick off with eight aspiring teams set to take the centre stage as Malaysia Purple League vowed to provide a competitive platform for local and international badminton players to broaden their badminton career and exposures.

Ampang Jaya BC who were the champions in the 2018th edition will face Petaling Badminton Club, Indonesia Chandra Wijaya Team, and Singapore Badminton Team in Group A while “defending champions” Puchong United BC will fancy their chances against Serdang Badminton Club, Sena Bangkok Club and Ho Chi Minh City Badminton Club in Group B.

The sixth edition of the SENHENG redONE Purple League is scheduled to take off at Malawati Stadium, Shah Alam on 1st to 6th of October. The Grand Finals will be held at Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting on 8th to 9th of October.
