JOHOR BAHRU (15 FEBRUARY): The SUKMA Johor Secretariat today launched the official SUKMA XX Johor 2020 apparel and merchandise which saw Al-Ikhsan Sports Sdn. Bhd being granted exclusive rights to produce a wide range of official apparel and merchandise for SUKMA XX Johor 2020.
The launch, held at Beletime Danga Bay, Johor Bahru earlier today, was officiated by Johor Menteri Besar, Yang Amat Berhormat (YAB) Dato’ Dr. Sahruddin bin Haji Jamal.
The collaboration will see Al-Ikhsan Sports Sdn. Bhd once again be the official apparel and merchandise partner for the nation’s biennial multi-sport event – replicating the feat they achieved in the previous edition hosted by Perak.
This is another feather in the cap for Al-Ikhsan, who also outfits several Malaysia Super League teams and products for various sports as this collaboration will certainly bring added value to the organization of SUKMA XX Johor 2020 this time around.
Johor Menteri Besar, YAB Dato’ Dr. Sahruddin bin Haji Jamal welcomed the collaboration of local companies with the aim of making this year’s edition of SUKMA a success.
According to him, “The Johor state government has always welcomed the participation of local companies who want to be part of the SUKMA XX Johor 2020 family in ensuring the success of the biennial games which was last held in this beloved state in 1992.”
“Today’s launch also plays a significant role in ensuring the promotional work of SUKMA XX Johor 2020 goes according to plan, with 146 days left.
“The state government, through the SUKMA Johor Secretariat is hard at work conducting several promotional activities in their efforts to ensure the hype for SUKMA XX Johor 2020 is being felt throughout the country,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Al-Ikhsan Sports Sdn. “The official SUKMA apparel collection consists of Polo and Round Neck Tee for kids and adults, priced from RM29 – RM59. This collection is available in Al-Ikhsan stores in Johor and selected stores nationwide,” added Vach.
Also in attendance of the official SUKMA XX Johor 2020 merchandise launch were Johor State Secretary, YB Dato’ Haji Azmi bin Rohani; Executive Director of Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd, YB Dato’ Daing A. Malek bin Daing A. Rahaman; Chairman of the Johor Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage Committee, YB Tuan Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar; Chief Executive Officer of Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn. Bhd (KPRJ), YB Dato’ Haji Mohd Noorazam bin Dato’ Haji Osman and Mayor of the Johor Bahru City Council, YB Dato’ Adib Azhari bin Daud.
At the same event, YAB Dato’ Dr. Sahruddin bin Haji Jamal also launched the ‘ROAD TO SUKMA’ Promotional Squad that will be responsible for a series of road tours to other states – Selangor, Kedah, Melaka, and Pahang in addition to the torch run to be held around Johor.
A total of 39 competition venues will be utilized for this edition, among them, in Johor Bahru for 28 events, followed by Muar (3) and Kota Tinggi (2). A total of 434 medals are there to be won in 16 compulsory sports, 15 optional sports and one demonstration sport, silambam.
This edition will also provide the most comprehensive coverage with the introduction of digital platforms aimed at providing official information and latest results on the games which will be accessible via the official website, www.sukmaxxjohor2020.my, official Facebook page – SUKMA XX JOHOR 2020 and Instagram – @sukmaxxjohor2020.”
