CANDRA WIJAYA INTERNATIONAL BADMINTON CLUB IN SMASHING FORM AS THEY PREPARE FOR THE SENHENG REDONE PURPLE LEAGUE PROFESSIONAL 2022

Veteran shuttler , Tommy Sugiarto will be leading Candra Wijaya International to triumph in the SENHENG redONE Purple League Professional 2022.

The Garudas are expected to swoop in the sixth edition of SRPLP

KUALA LUMPUR (23 SEPTEMBER 2022): Candra Wijaya International are ready to smash their competition aside as they prepare for this year’s SENHENG redONE Purple League Professional tournament. The tournament, which is less than a week away is set to for an explosive start with top teams competing on the opening and second day.

The team which hails from the “Emerald of the Equator” Indonesia, will fancy their odds of a stellar start to the tournament as they will be facing top international and Malaysian local clubs in their respective group in the prestigious competition.

According to Candra Wijaya International’s team manager, Denny Kantono, “The players are training hard. I can see them putting in effort during the sparring sessions and I always remind them that they have a chance to clinch this prestigious title in the coming days” Regarding their expectations in this year’s SRPLP, he said “We are aiming for a spot in the semi-finals, however it will be a tough fight especially against opponents like Singapore Badminton Team and Petaling Badminton Club, as many prominent and notable international players have joined them in this year’s edition ”.

Nevertheless, Denny Kantono is confident in his own firepower, 15th world rank Hafiz Faizal and experienced Serena Kani, who recently participated and excelled in the mixed’s doubles category at the 2022 Malaysia Open and 2022 Singapore Open. According to the pair, “Although the other teams are strong, we are prepared to give our best and deliver some points to our team as much as we can.”

Denny Kantono also sang praises of the Malaysia Purple League (MPL) and its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ho Khek Mong for offering such a platform to further elevate the badminton industry. He added “The MPL platform offers prospects for the expansion of the badminton industry by fostering and enhancing the talents of world badminton players which increases the standard of competitive badminton in the region”.

Candra Wijaya International will be prepared to face the heat as they scramble for the top 2 spots in Group A with Ampang Jaya Badminton Club, Singapore Badminton Team, and Petaling Badminton Club. Should they qualify for the semi-finals, they will face either Puchong United Badminton Club, Serdang Badminton Club, Sena Bangkok Club, and Ho Chi Minh City Badminton Club which will be battling each other for the top 2 spots in Group B.

The sixth edition of the SENHENG redONE Purple League is scheduled to take off at Malawati Stadium, Shah Alam on 1st to 6th of October. The Grand Finals will be held at Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting on 8th to 9th of October.
