Perak’s agony continued during their classification match

KUALA LUMPUR (25 SEPTEMBER 2019): Perak’s disappointing run continues as they lost 2-4 to an enthusiastic Pahang side in today’s 5th– 8thplace classification match.

Their defending champions’ status played no role in boosting their confidence level in this match as they struggled to overcome Pahang’s attacking force.

Ismail Abu contributed two goals while Muhammad Nazrey Din and Ahmad Kazamirul Nasrudin scored to secure a win for Pahang.

Meanwhile, PDRM also claimed victory after winning 5-0 against Penang.

Azreen Rizal Nasir opened the scoring for the PDRM in the 10th minute, followed by Tengku Nasrul Ferry Hakimie and another goal from Azreen’s penalty corner to put them at ease.

Baljit Singh Sarjab Singh and Muhammad Syahir Hasif Harun each obtained a goal for PDRM.

Pahang will now face PDRM for the 5th and 6th place classification match on Thursday.

In the women’s category, Johor’s fate was decided on a shoot-out to overcome Terengganu’s challenge after the meeting between the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw.

Nurfatin Dizana Mohd Zaidi and Nuraini Abdul Rashid successfully executed their attempts to secure a 2-1 victory for Johor in the shoot-out.

Melaka recorded a 1-0 win over Penang through an early goal from Siti Nurdiana Yuslan in the 3rd minute.

Despite Penang’s attacking display throughout the match, they were unable to breakthrough Melaka’s tight defense under the command of Alya Yusra Noor Azlan .

Johor will face Melaka for the 5th and 6th place classification match on Thursday while Terengganu and Penang will compete for the 7th and 8th place classification.
